It’s the beginning of the month again, and that means it’s time for the next episode of NYC’s hottest indie-dance party, Primary Colors. Residents (Pretty) Girls and Lasers mix up synthpop, indie remixes, and electro every month and for this edition I’ll be swinging by to play some more electro leaning disco and dance tunes akin to our old Public Assembly days and things we don’t always get to at Crooked Disco Fridays. The kick-off for Crooked Disco Fridays was a banger last week. Thanks to Magic Hat for rolling through with some beer discounts and free swag. They’re continuing their love and we’ll $4 drafts of Magic Hat Vinyl for all of March.

Plus, this week we welcome DJ Tektite from the Vitamin B crew as a special guest. He’ll be swinging by late night and dropping some serious breakbeat electro fidget sounds:

TEKTITE (Vitamin B, NYC)

Tektite got his start in the 90’s with Old School (UK) Hardcore, which quickly became an addiction to the hoover synths, old school stabs, and choppy breaks. Fast forward to 2008, and he is still searching for records that carry that old school sound while rounding out his repertoire with the massive warbled bass of electro-house, booty bounce of Baltimore Club, and full-volume funk of the UK breakbeat sound. Tektite is also co-founder and resident of the Brooklyn based breakbeat and electro party VitaminB, where occasionally you can still hear him return to his roots with an early 90’s breakbeat hardcore set.
