Thursday: Art Battles

So this Thursday we’ll be getting down with the Art Battles crew, a live painting collective that brings the party. Throughout the night, will get down on stage at Le Poisson Rouge doing there thing and kicking out sick work. While that goes down, we’ll be channeling our deeper shade of soul and dropping beats all night long. Morsy promises to play lots of your favorite hip hop jams, I promise to pretend to play some hip hop and reggae for ya, and we’ll all be running it through that good old Crooked Disco electro-crunk-baltimore-whatever filter to keep things moving all night. Check this sweet video here for more.

It’s ten bones in advance or twelve at the door so grab your tickets here. and here’s some more formal bits on the Art Battles:

ArtBattles, at the forefront of New York City’s live art movement, has been helping artists connect to the public. Like jazz musicians, these painters grab their instruments and attempt to entertain and inspire the world around them. The live audience enhances and energizes the work of the artist while the crowd feels a personal connection to the piece. The artists in this battle were selected based on their noteworthy style, personality and influence on NYC’s Live Art scene.
